At the Global Research Network we are setting up a scholarship bursary in memory of Professor Peter Fitzpatrick, for BAME (Black And Minority Ethnic) PhD students and early career researchers, based on financial need and research dealing with any aspect of Peter’s work. Please specifically mention this in the Comments on your donation so that we can attribute your donation appropriately.

Professor Peter Fitzpatrick passed away on 20 May 2020, leaving behind a rich oeuvre and close community of scholars. With the loving support of his family, Peter lived and worked in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the UK, consolidating Kent, Queen Mary and Birkbeck Law Schools as preeminent centers of legal philosophy. He taught many doctoral students who are now at law schools in Australia and the UK today, introducing them to poststructuralist theory and the importance of postcolonial thought. The Global Research Network has established a scholarship fund in Professor Fitzpatrick’s memory, which will contribute towards three awards: Best Peer-Reviewed Publication by an Early Career Academic; Best Publication Addressing Peter Fitzpatrick’s Work, and Bursary for Early Career Research (based on financial need).
