Biography

Short Biography
Tamia joined GRN in 2020. She holds an Adv. LL.M. in Public International Law - Universiteit Leiden, a Specialization degree in Migration, Development and Human Rights - FLACSO, and a BA - PUCE Ecuador.

Tamia has experience in migration, refugee law, forced displacement, durable solutions and human rights and she has worked closely with individuals, community based organizations, as well as stakeholders, service providers and governmental authorities. She also has experience in RSD and RST processes and in identifying intersectional vulnerabilities for specialized assistance, for instance, for unaccompanied children. Further, she has conducted research and legal analysis in forced displacement, sexual and gender-based violence, and human rights to support her work.

She is currently working full time for a non-governmental organization providing legal aid to forcefully displaced individuals and conducting independent research on refugee law implementation in domestic settings.
