Biography

Short Biography
Amit is pursuing a PhD in Law at Lancaster University, U.K. His PhD focuses on honour killings, witch hunting and the Devadasi system as three major forms of violence against women in India that are generally seen as non-conventional crimes. He is enrolled as an Advocate in the Jharkhand State Bar Council, Ranchi, India. He has previously worked at the National Commission for the Scheduled Castes, New Delhi; under His Lordship, Mr. Justice J. Chelameswar, Supreme Court of India, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice R.R. Prasad, High Court of Jharkhand.

Amit holds a B.A.LL.B (Hons) National Law School of India University, Bangalore and LLM (Human Rights) at the University of Reading, UK.
