Biography

Short Biography
Samaya (Maya) is a Senior Consultant (International Law), a lecturer in criminology and law and a PhD Candidate at Swinburne Law School researching the impact on Criminal Law by Artificial Intelligence.

Maya holds a Masters of Public and International Law from the University of Melbourne with broad teaching and research interest in public and international law, security and terrorism and human rights. She has an LLB as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Hons).

Previously, Maya was researching within the School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University, Australia, on the use of discursive strategies in cinema in regards to representations of terrorism and how this may normalise contraventions of international law and human rights.

Maya is also a regular film and literature reviewer for various media, journals, and organisations.
